Jake Paul revealed what it was like to fight Anthony Joshua. Jake admitted Joshua’s power “surprised my jaw” on his brother Logan Paul’s podcast “Impaulsive”. Fans eagerly anticipated the high-octane heavyweight boxing match between Joshua and Paul. The fight took place on December 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. Joshua knocked out Paul in the sixth round of the fight.
Jake Paul has this to say about Anthony Joshua’s power
Jake Paul discussed his boxing match with Anthony Joshua on his brother Logan Paul’s podcast. Logan asked, “Anthony Joshua hit you with probably his hardest shot. You dropped and said, wow.” Jake interjected, “I was like, wow, that was nice.”
Co-host Mike Majlak asked, “Did he surprise you with his power?” Jake immediately replied, “No, but he surprised my jaw.” Logan immediately asked his brother, “Tell me what your jaw feels like?” Jake, caressing his jawline, said, “It’s like a baseball in there. Four titanium plates. How many do you have?” “Just one,” Logan replied with a smile.
When asked why he got knocked out, Jake replied it was “mental.” He shared, “He was imposing his will on me and being massive, and the big shots landing, it goes downhill from there.” The boxer-influencer also reflected on what he would have done differently or if he should have trained in another way.
The 28-year-old said, “I wish I had more than three weeks to prepare, put on more muscle, sit there and hit him. I should have gone to altitude to train; that was my biggest mistake. I felt good about the camp and needed that extra level of cardio for this, and that can only come from going to altitude.”
Even though Jake Paul lost the match, it appears he is taking it in his stride and preparing himself for his next challenge. He shared, “It’s a great experience overall to be in there with somebody that’s that good. I learned a lot. I see where I could’ve done better. I’m a little disappointed, but I see how good he is.”
