Logan Paul took to social media to share a clip, wherein he negotiates the sale of his elusive Pikachu Illustrator Pokémon card with Ken Goldin. The latter looks forward to putting it up for auction, at what he calls the greatest Pokémon and TCG auction ever. Consequently, fans are eager to learn how much Paul agreed to sell his card for.
Logan Paul sells his rare Pokémon card
In a clip from Season 3 of Netflix’s King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch, the internet celebrity discusses selling his elusive Pikachu Illustrator card. He reportedly purchased it for around $5.3 million.
Logan Paul took to Instagram to post the video in which Ken Goldin offers him $1.5 million upfront to auction the Pokémon card. However, he drives up the price to $3 million. Eventually, Goldin finally agrees to write Paul a check of $2.5 million.
The WWE professional wrestler wrote in his caption, “Did I make a good deal?! @kengoldin has been chasing me for years trying to convince me to sell this Grail and he finally did it.” Further explaining his choice to sell the card, he wrote, “This was a very hard decision and I’m not sure we’ll ever see this card for sale again but I’m 60% sure I made the right choice to sell.”
Along with the $2.5 million, Logan Paul will also gain more benefits from this sale. “Plus Ken gave me a great offer: A $2.5M cash advance against the winning bid AND a small piece of the entire auction,” he explained in his post’s caption.
Paul also revealed when and where the sale of his card will take place. “And now, on February 15th, the greatest Pokémon and TCG auction of our generation will take place on @goldinco, anchored by my 1/1 PSA 10 Pikachu Illustrator — the rarest and most valuable Pokémon card in existence. It comes with the custom chain and I’ll hand-deliver to the buyer,” he added.
Notably, the Pikachu Illustrator is one of the rarest Pokémon collectible cards, first released as a contest prize in 1997. Logan Paul managed to purchase the only PSA-graded 10 from a private sale in 2022. He debuted the card during his WrestleMania debut.
With it, Paul even entered the Guinness World Records for owning the most expensive Pokémon card. Additionally, on Fox Business’ The Big Money Show, he recently revealed that the card’s customized chain itself cost him $75k. Meanwhile, fans are excited to learn how much the Pokémon collectible will now sell for at the upcoming auction.
