Years on from her tragic passing, Kim Porter’s children have found a “surrogate mom” in Kimora Lee Simmons, according to the fashion designer and TV star. Kimora’s revelation comes in the wake of the Netflix documentary on Sean “Diddy” Combs, which has brought renewed focus on Diddy and his family.

Speaking on Today with Jenna & Friends earlier this month, Kimora revealed she took four of Diddy’s children under her wing after their mother, Kim, passed away. Diddy and Kim had an on-again-off-again relationship from the mid-90s to 2007. During this time, the couple welcomed three children and raised Kim’s son from a previous relationship.
After their final split in 2007, Diddy and Kim allegedly remained close friends and co-parented their four children well. However, she unexpectedly passed away in 2018 at the age of 47, which is where Kimora comes into the story.
Referring to a promise she made after Kim’s tragic death, Kimora explained on Today that she’s an honorary “mom” to Quincy Brown, 34, King Combs, 27, and twins, D’Lila and Jessie Combs, 18. “I have all of her kids,” she said. “Even though some of them are adults.”
“There’s no co-parenting,” Kimora added of the dynamic, although she admitted it “takes a village” to raise children. “I have god moms and aunties and friends,” she went on. “It’s really a village of women.”
In addition to watching over Kim and Diddy’s kids, Kimora herself has five children.
Considering Diddy is currently serving a 50-month jail sentence and is not due for release until June 2028, Kimora undoubtedly has her hands full with all those kids under her wing.
