It’s been a complicated holiday season for Britney Spears. The pop superstar was hoping her son, Sean Preston, would join her and his brother, Jayden, for Christmas dinner. Unfortunately, for the Toxic singer, he apparently wasn’t interested in spending the festive day with his mother. That left Britney “really hurt,” according to a source.
Britney has had a rough relationship with her kids, losing custody of them years ago following her divorce to Kevin Federline.
Sean rejected his mom’s Christmas invite
Sean may not be quite ready to reconnect with his mom just yet. A source told US Weekly that he “wasn’t ready to meet her halfway,” and declined her Christmas invite. Instead, he spent Christmas in Louisiana with his grandma Lynne, aunt Jamie, and other loved ones.
Things have not always been harmonious between Britney and her loved ones, including her kids. Earlier this year, Kevin blasted her in a tell-all autobiography, alleging she did coke while breastfeeding the children. Britney blasted her estranged family during the holidays this year, sarcastically saying they never disrespected, harmed, or did anything unacceptable to cause her drama.
Reports suggest Sean wanted to spend time with his grandma because she’s somebody, he felt comfortable around, along with his cousins.
There may still be healing that has to be done between Britney and Sean, though the singer seems to be bonding with her other child. Sources say Jayden and Britney had a beautiful Christmas together, which has deepened their connection. They reportedly enjoyed glazed ham while also watching movies, playing, and listening to music together.
Many of Britney’s close friends and family have expressed concern for the pop star of late due to some of her bizarre online rants about her estranged family and the US, among other things. There’s a new biopic about Britney, said to be in the works.
