Jake Paul expressed support for Anthony Joshua, who was a victim of a car accident in Nigeria on Monday, December 29. He wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Life is much more important than boxing. I am praying for the lost lives, AJ, and anyone impacted by today’s unfortunate accident.”

For those unversed, Joshua and Paul recently participated in a high-octane heavyweight boxing match. The fight took place on December 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. Joshua knocked Paul out in the sixth round of the fight, thus winning the title. Fans praised Paul for showcasing kindness and sportsmanship towards his former opponent and sending his thoughtful prayers to the victims of the car crash.

Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing confirmed the details about the horrifying car crash in Nigeria in a brief statement on X. They revealed that Joshua has sustained injuries and is now in a “stable condition” and will remain “under observation.”

However, his two team members, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, have “tragically passed away” and requested privacy during this “incredibly difficult time.”

A couple of hours after his first post, Paul posted a second time. He offered sincere condolences to Joshua’s teammates who died in the car crash. Paul wrote, “RIP Sina Ghami and Kevin ‘Latif / Latz’ Ayodele. My thoughts and prayers are with their families and friends and AJ.”
