Sources told columnist Rob Shuter that Nick had expressed an interest in obtaining a gun in the run up to his parents’ deaths. Nick, who has previously spoken about his struggles with addiction, has since been charged with their murder. Law enforcement has since confirmed that the pair died as a result of “multiple sharp force injuries.”

It’s not clear whether Nick took any steps to actually get hold of a gun. But according to insiders, things spiraled out of control in the period before the couple’s deaths.

One source said: “Everything escalated incredibly quickly. He wasn’t panicked — he was focused, and that’s what makes it so disturbing.”

Another insider added: “The concern isn’t what he had — it’s what he was thinking about in those final days.”

The claims come amid reports that police had been called to Rob and Michele’s LA home numerous times over the years. According to the Daily Mail, LAPD records show that officers attended in 2013, 2014, 2017, and twice in 2019. They were also reportedly called on December 14, the day of the murder. The reasons for these police visits included alleged family violence and mental health checks.

Rob spoke about his children shortly before his death, making comments about loving all of them – “even the bad ones.”

Nick is reportedly facing two counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances. The investigation is ongoing.
