Heated Rivalry star François Arnaud is happy the show has a fan in Miley Cyrus – even if she hasn’t actually seen it.
The Flowers singer told Variety at the Palm Springs International Film Festival gala that she would be “so in” to provide a new track for the sports romance series’ next season, after being asked about liking a Heated Rivalry post on Instagram. François, who portrays Scott Hunter on the show, responded with a quip about Heated Rivalry’s budget.
Could Miley do a song for Heated Rivalry Season 2?
“I have not watched [Heated Rivalry] yet, but this is on my to-do list now,” Miley told the entertainment publication. “It’s all I’ve heard about — every conversation I’ve had today has started with you, ‘You have to [watch it].’”
When Variety followed up with François at the Critics’ Choice Awards red carpet last night, he jokingly expressed doubts about Miley’s inclusion
“I think we might get a little bit bigger budget for Season 2, but I don’t know if we get Miley budget.”
François did have an idea to fix that issue, however. “I think if she sees the show, she might give us a discount,” he added.
Heated Rivalry is one of television’s biggest hits in recent years. The Canadian series quickly became the most-watched original series ever on its country of origin’s Crave streamer. When it went international on HBO Max, it swiftly became the streamer’s top-rated non-animated acquired series since its 2020 launch. Its renewal for season two came almost immediately after airing.
When asked about his character Scott’s romance with Kip in the next season, François hoped the two could reconcile. “I would want them to face the continuing challenges of someone uber-famous being with someone who didn’t choose that for his life at all and is forced into it.”
“[Kip] has to stop working out. That’s what I want to see. Like, he’s a smoothie boy. Why does he have the best body out of all of us?”
