Prince Harry is reportedly feeling “homesick” and is hiding his “yearning for Britain” during the holiday season post-“Megxit.” Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior members of the royal family to establish themselves independently from the monarch and seek financial independence. The royal couple last celebrated Christmas in Britain with the rest of the royal family in 2018. It has been years since they have enjoyed holiday celebrations in Britain. Reports suggest that the Prince is “pining” for Christmas celebrations there.
Prince Harry is missing ‘pubs, roast dinners, jokes and royal traditions,’ per source
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle haven’t celebrated Christmas with the British royal family for the past seven years. And this is seemingly troubling the Prince now. As reported by OK Magazine, Harry, 41, is deeply missing four things over the holidays.
As per a palace insider, Harry is yearning for “pubs, roast dinners, jokes and royal traditions.” The source added, “These are the four things everyone knows he misses most about royal Christmases – and, indeed, about life back in Britain. Harry used to love going down the pub with his rugby mates, talking sports and having laddish jokes.”
The source continued, saying that the Duke of Sussex can’t have all of these things in California. “The food is also not the same Stateside, and Harry even misses all the royal traditions, even though some of them were a public duty and sometimes felt like a burden,” the source said.
Meanwhile, another source said that Harry is “homesick and has been for years.”
Harry spent Christmas with Meghan Markle and his kids in Montecito. And according to a source, the Duke frequently looks back on the differences between his life in Britain and the path he chose for himself in California.
“Harry often finds himself openly reminiscing about the laughter and lively atmosphere of family meals back home, and the feeling of everyone gathering together during Christmas in Britain and heading out to pubs. It’s the little moments like jokes with friends he misses most,” said a source.
However, as much as he would like to spend holidays with his royal family, sources say he has put up a “front” so that he can “hide his yearning for Britain.”
