An actress who rose to fame in a popular movie franchise this century is dead. Jayne Trcka is perhaps best known for her role on the original Scary Movie, which came out in 2000.
That was the first film featuring the woman born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, who portrayed Miss Mann in the parody. Following that, she appeared in multiple other movies in the first decade of the 21st century. She had also been featured on the hit improv show Whose Line is it Anyway? in the early 2000s. Jayne was also on The Drew Carey Show. She was 62.
Bodybuilder Jayne Trcka has died
Jayne’s death has sent shockwaves through those closest to the bodybuilder. TMZ confirmed her death. Her son claimed that he was unaware of any health issues his mom was suffering from when he learned of her death.
Before jumping into the acting world, Jayne competed on TV in bodybuilding competitions in the 1980s. At 34, she won first place at the 1997 California State Championships. She’d been featured in multiple fitness magazines, including Flex and MuscleMag International.
She died in early December, though the San Diego Medical Examiner has yet to reveal the cause. Her last credited television appearance was in 2010 in The New Big Ball with Neil Hamburger. Scary Movie was written by Marlon Wayans, among others. The actor and comedian recently slammed 50 Cent for his documentary about disgraced rapper Diddy.
At the time of her death, Jayne had been working as a real estate agent at Realty Source California. Since appearing in the original scary movie, five other sequels have been made. A sixth Scary Movie began filming in October and will be released in theatres in June of this year. The film will be directed by Michael Tiddes.
