Hugh Jackman has played many roles across his decades-long career. From Jean Valjean in Les Misérables to Wolverine in the X-Men film franchise and Barnum in The Greatest Showman, Hugh is known for being somewhat of a chameleon. But, in his latest role, the actor is totally unrecognizable.
Hugh Jackman looks very different in the trailer for The Death of Robin Hood
The Death of Robin Hood trailer just dropped on YouTube, and in it, Hugh debuted a new look. As Robin Hood, the actor’s face is hidden beneath a gray beard and long, silver hair. It’s a stark contrast to his usual look: cropped brown hair and a clean shave.
Reacting to Hugh’s appearance as Robin Hood, someone on Instagram likened it to a White Walker on Game of Thrones. “Oooh love the look already!” another person commented.
Recently speaking about his role in the movie, Hugh said it’s very different from most modern interpretations of the Robin Hood story. “What I love so much about Mike Sarnsoki’s vision of Robin Hood is that the script delivered power, and it examines how power can be used for good or bad,” he told Entertainment Weekly.
“Robin Hood is a real man in our story. With all the scars, the pain, the regret and, yes, the love,” he added.
Hugh continued: “Mike’s story has weight to it. For me, it’s beautiful and human.”
As for how much of Hugh’s Robin Hood appearance is natural? Although the director didn’t comment on Hugh’s new beard and gray hair, he had something else to say. “You will be seeing some [of Hugh’s] musclebound physique,” Mike Sarnsoki told the publication.
