Kate Middleton has been adding her own stamp on things. Insiders say the future queen is enacting more control over her own wardrobe. She’d previously worked with the same stylist for 15 years, but after she quit in 2025, it’s been the Princess calling the fashion shots.

According to palace insiders, Prince William isn’t the only one wanting to shape the British monarchy. Aides say Kate is also keen to make “impactful change,” reports the Times.
And in a new report from the publication, sources close to the palace revealed that Kate may be starting with her wardrobe. The Princess’ stylist, Natasha Archer, quit last year in order to set up her own consulting company. It was a pretty big deal, given that the pair had worked together for 15 years.
Now, aides say Kate is going it alone. She reportedly doesn’t currently have a stylist, so is “very much in control” of her outfit choices. The Princess has called the shots for a number of high-profile royal engagements in recent months.
It was apparently her decision to wear Queen Victoria’s Oriental Circlet tiara when the president of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, visited in December. And she also apparently chose the gold gown for President Trump’s state visit in September.
Making her style choices solo isn’t the only change Kate is making. Recent reports suggest she is also set to ban a “cruel” royal Christmas tradition once she becomes queen.
And speaking of ascending the throne, a palace insider told the Times that Kate’s marriage will be a “great asset” when she becomes queen. The source said: “While it may seem a completely ridiculous comparison, it reminds me a bit of dear old David and Victoria Beckham. I think the public can spot a genuine relationship and a genuinely strong marriage and two people who fit well together. How strong they are individually, but also as a couple. And I think that’s probably a great asset.”
