Kim Kardashian is sharing glimpses of family life with her children and their new puppies, even as criticism continues online. The reality star and entrepreneur recently posted playful videos featuring her kids and their pets, days after animal rights group PETA publicly condemned her decision to gift dogs for Christmas.
Kim Kardashian shares what kids and puppies are up to in new videos
Over the weekend, Kim Kardashian took to her Instagram stories to show her children bonding with their new Pomeranian puppies inside her home. In the short clips, the pups scampered across the living room while Kardashian’s kids laughed, cuddled, and chased after them.
In one video, Kardashian held a small sable-colored puppy up to the camera as a child could be heard reacting excitedly off-screen. Another clip showed her daughter Chicago hugging and kissing the same dog on the couch.
Meanwhile, the younger siblings crawled along the floor trying to keep up with a dark-haired pup darting around the room. The final video captured Kardashian smiling beside Chicago as they each held puppies and waved to the camera.
The posts followed Kardashian’s Christmas Day reveal that she had gifted each of her four children — North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm — a puppy. She shares the children with her ex-husband, Kanye West. At the time, Kardashian shared a photo of the four dogs together, writing that each child received one.
While the videos were lighthearted, the decision drew criticism from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk said in a statement to PEOPLE that puppies shouldn’t be treated like “plushies” and suggested that Kardashian could have used her platform to encourage shelter adoption instead. The organization’s comments reflected broader backlash on social media.
Despite the criticism, Kardashian’s recent posts suggest the family is settling in with the new pets. That said, the puppies were just one part of an extravagant holiday for Kardashian’s children. She also gifted North custom diamond jewelry created by Alex Moss New York, including a heavily jeweled necklace that the 12-year-old later showed off on TikTok.
