Kristen Stewart Has Big Plans for a Twilight Reboot

Good news for the Twihards – Kristen Stewart is totally down to make a reboot. The actress recently told a reporter she is “committed” to adding a new movie to the franchise. There’s a pretty big caveat, though. Kristen was talking about a remake in the context of being behind the camera this time.

Kristen wants to direct a Twilight remake with a “huge budget”

Turns out, Kristen doesn’t actually hate the Twilight movies. In fact, she’s keen to make more. The actress, who recently split opinions with a risqué fashion choice, says she’d love to direct a reboot.

Speaking to a reporter Variety‘s 10 Directors to Watch and Creative Impact Awards in Palm Springs, she said she would “love to readapt.”

She told Entertainment Tonight: “I would love — look. I love what Catherine [Hardwicke] did, I love what Chris [Weitz] did, I love what all of the directors did with the movies. They were so themselves and weird and kind of like, squirrelly, and just so present in that time when they didn’t really know what they were yet, like before they blew up. Imagine if we had a huge budget and a bunch of love and support. I don’t know — I would love to readapt. Yeah, sure, I’ll do the remake. I’m doing it! I’m committed!”

Kristen was honored at the awards ceremony on the back of her directorial debut, The Chronology of Water, which was released last year. She told ET of her decision to step behind the camera: “I’ve been working on other people’s films for my whole life, since I was nine years old. And I feel like everything’s been building to this moment to find a little space for myself. It’s just what I’ve wanted to do my whole life.”
