Sources comment on Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe’s closeness
According to RadarOnline, Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe have grown notably closer in recent months.
An insider cited by RadarOnline said Crowe, who has been through a high-profile divorce himself, is able to relate to Kidman’s situation. “Russell has been through his own heartbreaking divorce after 15 years of marriage, so he can empathize with Nicole in a way that not everyone in her world can,” a source said. As a result, he has reportedly stayed in frequent contact, including regular phone calls and a recent casual meeting. The source added, “Nicole is putting on a brave face but she’s been rocked by this. Russell has helped to steady her and she’s so grateful.”
As per sources, Crowe has encouraged Kidman to stay busy in work. Kidman has reportedly followed that advice, committing to multiple projects, some with overlapping timelines. Crowe has also suggested potential collaborations, sharing scripts and ideas he believes may suit her. An insider said, “Russell has pushed for them to collaborate on something. He’s sending her projects that he’s interested in, pushing her to read them.”
However, the closeness has reportedly drawn attention due to Crowe’s relationship with Britney Theriot, whom he has been dating since 2020. The publication reported, “It’s tough for Britney to see Russell giving all this attention to another woman, especially when the other woman is Nicole. It’s bound to be threatening, but Russell is oblivious.”
According to insiders, Kidman is aware of the speculation surrounding their friendship but she has made it clear the relationship is strictly platonic. “Nicole’s aware of the chatter but tells everyone it’s just malicious gossip. She refuses to apologize,” a source said.
