No more doom scrolling for North West. The pre-teen has reportedly had her Instagram account axed by mom Kim Kardashian. Sources say the Skims founder was concerned about the types of posts her daughter was able to see on the social media platform.
Kim K “didn’t like what she saw” on her daughter’s Instagram, claims an insider
Kim has had her fair share of parenting controversies in recent years. Most recently, she faced the public’s wrath for allowing North to get a new piercing.
But sources say the reality TV star is “protective” of her eldest daughter – which is why she made her delete her Insta. A source told Hollywood columnist Rob Shuter: “Kim didn’t like what she saw. Some of the content, comments and attention were worrying, and she felt it wasn’t safe for North yet.”
Another insider added that although the account seemed harmless initially, Kim “noticed posts and interactions that made her pause. She’s very hands-on and protective — this was her call, no question.”
While recent reports suggest Kim and Kanye West are on the same page about North’s social media, it’s apparently still a contentious issue. A source told Rob: “Kim and Kanye have very different ideas about social media and privacy,” a friend dished. “Kim is all about safety and control; Kanye is more laid-back. It’s always been a balancing act.”
Kim previously opened up about allowing her kids to have social media. She said on the Goop podcast: “I think every family is different, even within my family. How Kourtney operates, how Khloé operates, how Kylie—we always say every family is different.
“With social media, it is hard because all the cousins, all my nieces and nephews, they’re all best friends with my kids. They’re all the same ages. So if Penelope has a TikTok, North wants a TikTok, and all the girls at school have a TikTok.”
