Melania Trump Hates It When Donald Trump Does This in Public

During a recent appearance at the Kennedy Center, Donald Trump told supporters that Melania Trump dislikes some of his on‑stage habits, especially the moments when he acts out scenes or dances for the crowd. His comments offered a rare glimpse into how the First Lady reacts to his public persona. Moreover, her taste is allegedly different from the atmosphere he creates during rallies and campaigns, something that includes long speeches, off‑script comments, and his dance routines.

Donald Trump says Melania Trump hates to see him dance on-stage

While speaking to Republicans at the event, Donald Trump said there is one person who would prefer he cut the theatrics: Melania Trump. Before performing a recurring bit, he told the audience that Melania thinks the routine is “terrible” and “unpresidential,” saying, “By the way, my wife hates when I do this.”

Trump added that she also criticizes his dancing, saying she once asked him, “Could you imagine FDR dancing?” Trump replied to her, “There’s a long history that perhaps she doesn’t know,” telling the crowd that Melania insists the audience only pretends to enjoy his moves. According to Trump, she tells him, “They don’t like it, they’re just being nice to you.” Trump pushed back, saying the crowds cheer and call for him to dance, and he believes they genuinely enjoy it.

This is not the first time Trump has said Melania objects to his stage antics. He brought it up in 2025 during a commencement speech at the University of Alabama, warning graduates that he would be “in trouble” for doing the impersonation again. Notably, his dancing and extended stage time have become a signature part of his events.

Donald Trump often mentions Melania in his speeches sometimes veering off topic to tell personal stories, but his stage routines show no sign of stopping as of now, even if Melania wishes he would tone them down.
