Barron Trump, the son of Donald and Melania Trump, is allegedly putting effort into losing his European accent. Having grown up with his mother and grandparents, Barron has had a noticeable Slovenian accent, but various sources say that he is reportedly trying to make his speech closer to an American accent, while he’s studying at New York University. In his sophomore year, Barron transferred to the college campus in Washington, D.C. while living at Mar-a-Lago.
Barron Trump is reportedly taking lessons to get a better American accent
Barron Trump is allegedly taking elocution lessons to smooth out his accent, according to various sources talking with reporter Rob Shuter on his Naughty But Nice Substack.
An insider who is close to the Trump family said, “Barron is very focused on how he presents himself now. He’s thoughtful, deliberate, and wants to be confident when he speaks, but he does it quietly, without drawing attention.”
Another source suggests that his desire to lose his accent could stem from him not wanting to stand out. “He stays away from the spotlight whenever possible,” the insider explained. “He’s very aware of his privacy, and his mother makes sure it stays that way. Melania is fiercely protective of him.”
Last week, Melania allegedly warned Mar-a-Lago members that their memberships could be revoked if they snap pictures of Barron Trump without the family’s consent. She has previously spoken out against Eric Trump for talking about her son and was apparently upset when a pastor revealed a conversation he had with him too.
A family friend said that Melania wants her 19-year-old son to have “a normal life,” saying that she him to be “free from cameras and public pressure,” though she still wants to give him “the tools he needs to succeed.”
A report in December 2025 said that Barron received dating advice from influencer Andrew Tate.
