James Marsden’s Cyclops’ Avengers: Doomsday ‘Aura’ Has Fans Obsessed

Marvel fans react to James Marsden’s Cyclops in Avengers: Doomsday teaser

Marvel fans are going wild over James Marsden’s return as Cyclops in Avengers: Doomsday. The third teaser dropped on January 6, 2026, is an instant hit among the Marvel fanbase, who haven’t stopped raving about Cyclops’ electrifying aura ever since.

The Doomsday teaser is about the X-Men’s dark return. It focuses heavily on classic characters, including Professor X (Patrick Stewart), Magneto (Ian McKellen), and Cyclops. The teaser sets off on a grim note with clips of the crumbling Xavier’s School. Magneto’s intense monologue about “death” has raised speculations about the X-Men’s fate.

Then, Cyclops appears, unleashing a powerful optic blast, with a massive Sentinel’s leg visible in the background in a clear nod to the X-Men’s epic battles against the machines. Fans are loving how the live-action adaptation mirrors the comics, especially with Cyclops and Xavier’s School setting.

Marsden’s return is a nostalgic moment, especially with his iconic blue and yellow suit making a comeback. Marvel enthusiasts are of the opinion that James Marsden as Cyclops served more aura in 2 seconds than he did in the last few years.

Soon after the teaser release, Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) X (formerly Twitter) was flooded with fan comments. “James Marsden as Cyclops farmed more aura in 2 seconds than he did in the last 2 decades, and that fucking says something. The Russos are cooking!!!”, a top comment read.

“This one shot did more justice to Cyclops than the entire Fox X-Men franchise,” another resonating fan tweeted. “What a time to be alive,” one thrilled fan commented. “There’s not a single person that sees this and decides ‘You know what.. I’m not going to see this in theaters’,” echoed another. Avengers: Doomsday is set to release on December 18, 2026, in the United States. Directed by the Russo brothers, the highly-anticipated film will conclude the MCU’s Multiverse Saga.
