KFC collaborates with The Bear’s Matty Matheson to bring this Canadian dish to the U.S.
On January 5, 2026, KFC added a version of poutine, a popular Canadian dish, to its American KFC menu as Matty’s Cheesy Nuggy Gravy Bowl (via PR Newswire).
The dish, developed in collaboration with chef and actor Matty Matheson, features fries topped with brown gravy, crispy chicken nuggets, and cheese curds. It is a part of the food chain’s latest rollout of $5 bowls for an affordable meal option.
In addition to this, KFC also introduced the Mac & Cheese Bowl, Mashed Potato Bowl, Spicy Mac & Cheese Bowl, and Spicy Mashed Potato Bowl, all priced at $5.
With the new lineup, KFC intends to offer value-centric meals that Americans can enjoy without worrying about the cost. “Every January, the conversation around food gets smaller with a focus on rules and restrictions. But it shouldn’t come at the cost of trading down,” Melissa Cash, KFC U.S. CMO, shared.
She further added, “Self-improvement can mean intentional indulgence, comfort, and abundant value. 2026 will certainly be the year of balance, and KFC has something for everyone to keep the focus on what matters most: you and the balance you deserve without compromise.”
Meanwhile, Matheson has praised the new lineup. He said, “KFC knows value and flavor, and we wanted to bring that energy to lunch. Something warm and bold and comforting. It’s the kind of food you crave and can’t stop thinking about.”
That’s not all, “The Bear” actor revealed that he is developing a new Canada-exclusive with KFC. It’s scheduled to be released on January 19, 2026.
