A new report claims President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump share a common personal interest. Despite often maintaining separate schedules outside of official events, sources say the couple connects over a common passion.
Here’s the common interest between Donald Trump and Melania Trump
Despite largely maintaining separate personal schedules, President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are said to share a mutual interest in interior design. This brings the couple together despite limited time spent with each other.
PEOPLE reported that a source familiar with the couple said the president is closely involved in design decisions at locations including Mar-a-Lago and several Trump golf clubs. Trump often selects furnishings and finishes himself. “Donald has his own vision for his homes and clubs, and over the years has designed and selected a lot of the furnishings and finishings himself at Mar-a-Lago and the golf clubs. He and Melania have that in common. They both love interior design,” a source said.
Outside of this, sources describe the couple as spending limited time together beyond public or expected appearances. “There is little interaction between them, just what is expected.” the source said. They added that the couple generally return to their individual routines afterward. The source added, “Then they go back to doing their own thing.”
In response to claims about the couple’s dynamic, White House spokesman Davis Ingle told PEOPLE, “President Trump and the entire administration work 24/7 for the American people to deliver on the promise to Make America Great Again. The Trump Family is the most successful family of all time.”
The Trumps were seen together recently while hosting a New Year’s Eve celebration at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida. According to an insider, the couple shared a kiss at midnight as they welcomed the new year 2026.
