Tessa Thompson’s High Slit Monse Dress Does Subtle Glamor Justice

Tessa Thompson stepped out in a slate grey Monse dress “defined by corsetry.” The thigh-high slit on the dress allowed her to flaunt her long legs. She attended the Golden Eve at the Beverly Hills on January 6, marking her first red carpet appearance for this awards season.

Tessa Thompson stuns in a high slit strapless Monse dress for Golden Eve ceremony

Tessa Thompson is one of the nominees for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards, thanks to her performance in “Hedda.” Ahead of the award ceremony, she showed up at the Golden Eve, which is a new primetime special held to honour the year’s Cecil B. DeMille and Carol Burnett Award recipients.

The 42-year-old donned a strapless grey column dress from Monse. Crafted from a suiting-like fabric, the gown was a look from the brand’s Pre-fall 2026 collection. It had a corset-like fitted bodice, with the skirt featuring a wrap-style knot at the hip and a high slit that gave a glimpse of her long legs when she moved.

Dressed by celebrity stylist Karla Welch, Thompson paired the dress with black Christian Louboutin Miss Z patent pumps. The shoes are currently on sale for $995 on the brand’s official website. She accessorised with diamond stud earrings and a Repossi Antifer 8-Row ring. She wore her dark hair with a side part. Meanwhile, her makeup was minimal except for the vibrant red colour on her lips.

On January 8, Monse’s official Instagram account shared a snap of the “Thor: Ragnarok” star’s look for the event. The caption read, “@tessamaethompson in Pre-Fall 2026. A sculpted strapless silhouette in grey, defined by corsetry and a draped knot at the hip that opens into a single, leg slit.” Fans showered her with compliments in the comment section. One individual wrote, “Stunning,” while another commented with heart-eye emojis.
