Madonna is stepping back into the spotlight with a D&G campaign video that leans into her legacy rather than chasing trends. The music icon has reunited with Dolce & Gabbana to mark a major milestone for the fashion house’s fragrance line. The result is a sleek, cinematic return that places Madonna front and center as the face of The One once again.
Madonna plays a stunner in Dolce & Gabbana The One video
Dolce & Gabbana has reunited with Madonna as the face of The One to commemorate the fragrance’s 20th anniversary. According to the brand, the new campaign includes striking photography and a cinematic short film directed by Mert Alas, with Cuban actor Alberto Guerra appearing opposite Madonna.
The video keeps its storyline minimal, instead relying on mood, chemistry, and visual tension to carry the narrative. In the short film, Madonna portrays a self-assured central figure navigating attraction and control.
The Italian fashion house described her character as “a strong, confident, determined woman” who “breaks conventions and rewrites the rules of seduction.” While those descriptions come from D&G’s statement, the visuals suggest a deliberate focus on presence rather than plot. As such, the camera lingers on gestures, glances, and subtle power shifts between the two leads.
That said, music plays a central role in setting the tone. For the D&G campaign video, Madonna recorded a new version of “La Bambola,” the 1968 Italian hit by Patty Pravo. The reinterpretation marks the first time she has sung in Italian. It is meant to echo themes of independence and self-expression, aligning with the fragrance’s long-standing identity.
Beyond the visuals, the anniversary introduces new additions to The One fragrance family. Dolce & Gabbana Beauty has launched The One Eau de Parfum Intense, The One for Men Parfum, and a reformulated The One for Men Eau de Parfum.
The brand says the updated scents are richer and longer-lasting, building on signature notes like amber, jasmine, vanilla, spice, and tobacco. The fragrances are housed in redesigned bottles featuring clean lines and refined finishes.
