It is back to square one for Diddy in his attempt to get out of jail early. The rapper is currently serving time after being convicted on two counts of transportation for the purposes of prostitution. The music mogul has maintained his innocence in the matter and was counting on the President to help him out.
Diddy even penned a letter to Donald Trump, asking him to grant a pardon so he can walk free earlier than expected. He was sentenced to four years in prison, followed by another five years of supervised release. He served a year in jail before his conviction which has counted towards time served.
Donald Trump won’t grant Sean “Diddy” Combs a pardon

It looks like Diddy will have to ride out his full prison sentence. In a lengthy sit-down interview with the New York Times, Trump said he is not considering pardoning the Grammy Award winner.
That will likely come as a big shock to the rapper who had posed in photos with Donald before. In November, he was reportedly bragging to inmates behind bars that he would get to leave prison early. He also allegedly promised those that he’d take care of those in prison.
Diddy was initially held in Brooklyn before being transferred to Fort Dix in New Jersey. Trump was reportedly considering letting Diddy walk free, though in October, a White House spokesperson denied that there was any truth to this allegation.
Donald’s previous comments about the rapper had many speculating he’d grant him a pardon. Last year, he said Diddy was sort of “half-innocent.” The jury in Diddy’s case came up with a split-decision verdict, acquitting him on charges of sex racketeering and trafficking.
By all accounts, Diddy hasn’t exactly been behaving up to code while behind bars. He reportedly got caught making alcohol in jail and is alleged to have made an illegal three-person call, something his lawyers denied.
Without the support of Trump, Diddy must now serve out his full sentence. He’s scheduled to be released in May 2028.
