When Cheadle asked Clooney if he had won, Clooney quipped, “We’re all winners here,” only for Cheadle to fire back, “Not really — you aren’t,” sending the audience into a roar of laughter.

The playful roasting didn’t stop there. Cheadle poked fun at Clooney’s age, referencing Timothée Chalamet, who just turned 30. “He was three when you last won, it’s been a long time,” Cheadle joked. Clooney laughed along, enjoying every moment of the good-natured ribbing.

When asked what he was doing there, Cheadle told the crowd and Clooney that he was “just here for moral support,” but everyone could tell he was having a blast roasting his longtime friend. At one point, he even said, “Knock ‘em dead, Batman,” letting Clooney announce the nominations while keeping the audience laughing nonstop.
