While celebrities are used to criticism, it doesn’t mean what is said doesn’t affect them. Kit Harrington is opening up about the ending of Game of Thrones. The show came to an end in the spring of 2019 to the dismay of many fans.
When the final season aired, Kit was in rehab, dealing with mental health issues. Upon getting out, he heard about a petition that surfaced, which got a huge rise out of the British actor. “That genuinely angered me,” said Kit. Fans apparently wanted HBO to redo the final season.
The GoT ending was controversial, and a petition caught Kit Harington’s attention

The outrage regarding the final season of Game of Thrones did not sit well with Kit. In response to the petition to HBO, he says his reaction to fans was “how dare you?” He told the New York Times that the anger from fans stemmed from what he called a level of idiocy that can only arise on social media.
Among the controversial things to happen in the final season was Kit’s character Jon Snow killing his aunt and lover, Daenerys Targaryen, after she went mad. The series ran for eight seasons.
The finale season had apparently been a point of contention among the show’s cast since it appeared. Sophie Turner called the petition disrespectful. She portrayed Sansa Stark on the program. Kit and Sophie will co-star in the film The Dreadful, which is currently in post-production. During the taping, Kit shared a kiss he had with Sophie, which he called embarrassing.
After backlash over the petition from the cast, some fans began a new campaign to raise funds for cast member Emilia Clarke’s charity SameYou.
