Charli XCX’s Saint Laurent Fit Gives ‘Classic Actress With a Twist’

After taking over the music industry, Charli XCX has set out to conquer the red carpet. The songstress made her Golden Globes debut at the 83rd Annual edition of the award ceremony, which honours the best performances and projects from last year. While Charli was not a nominee, she arrived at the awards as a presenter in a custom Saint Laurent outfit.

Charli XCX stuns in an archival two-piece Saint Laurent fit for Golden Globes debut

Charli XCX, who is Saint Laurent’s ambassador for Spring 2026, rightfully wore a stunning outfit from the luxury brand. Per Vogue, two archival YSL pieces inspired the black-and-white outfit, which appeared as two separate pieces. The first was a black feathered top from Look 60 in Spring 2019’s collection. The top featured a sweetheart neckline and a big bow detail at the front. It was inspired by the 1972 costumes for pop singer Sylvie Vartan.

The other was a black and white column gown from Fall 1982. Speaking to Vogue about the look, Charli’s stylist, Chris Horan, divulged, “The look is very classic actress, but has a little bit of a twist. It feels like the same girl—it marries both her worlds.” He also revealed that they plan to keep Charli’s style more “polished, streamlined” for her future red carpet appearances.

The “Chains of Love” singer completed her look with Saint Laurent Chandelle platform sandals. She accessorised with De Beers jewellery and a Saint Laurent leather clutch. She wore her black tresses in soft waves with a center part. Meanwhile, her makeup was simple, including a nude lip and black eyeliner.

Next year, the 33-year-old could also be one of the nominees at the 84th Annual Golden Globes. This year, her mockumentary “The Moment” will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. Additionally, she has provided the soundtrack for the highly anticipated Emerald Fennell movie, “Wuthering Heights.”
