Donald Trump Appears Confused Over Promise He Publicly Made

Donald Trump is struggling to keep track of all the promises he made. There are growing concerns about possible dementia surrounding the President after he forgot a pledge he made to Americans.

On Tuesday, he was asked by White House correspondent Katie Rogers about money that would supposedly go to citizens. In response, Donald was confused and did not know when he’d made that promise. The statement was made on the President’s Truth Social account in November. He called opponents of tariffs fools, claiming that the US is the richest and most respected country in the world, with almost no inflation. He went on to promise an income from the tariffs.

President Trump previously said he would send Americans $2,000 tariff checks

Politicians tend to make promises at the drop of a hat, and keeping track of them is apparently not so easy. The President promised Americans in November that they would receive $2,000 in tariff checks. As Katie was trying to refresh his memory, Donald interrupted her saying, “Well, I did $1,776 for the military.” That particular pledge was for Warrior Dividend checks, though. The President and the Department of Defense sent out that money to millions of US service members.

While he claimed the checks were being cut from tariff revenue, it later emerged that those funds were taken from a provision in the Big Beautiful Bill given to the Pentagon to finance the Basic Allowance for Housing. The President was pressed again on when the tariff money would arrive. After hesitating initially, he answered, “I would say toward the end of the year.”

The President noted that the money is coming from other sources. He adds that he does not believe it’ll have to pass through Congress first. In December, comedian Jimmy Kimmel questioned the President’s cognitive health, calling him deeply unwell. Donald has bragged about acing his mental tests.
