Jennifer Lawrence’s husband, Cooke Maroney, whose name popped up during a conversation on the “SmartLess” podcast, was described by her as her calm. On the January 12, 2026, episode, Lawrence appeared on the podcast to promote “Die My Love” after a Golden Globes 2026 nomination for Best Actress in a Drama. She sat down with podcast hosts and fellow actors Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes and explained how Maroney’s order keeps her ADD chaos in check.

Lawrence and her husband started dating in 2018 and married in October 2019. Now, the art gallerist and the Oscar winner share two sons. Still, she said their household runs on a strict schedule with a built-in grace period.

According to the “SmartLess” episode, Lawrence said, “I married somebody who is the opposite of me.” She added, “He is so organized,” and summed it up simply: “He’s an anchor.” However, she said the neatness comes with new rules for her. “Everything is ordered,” Lawrence said.

The actor also described their kids’ routine without sugarcoating it. “They’re on a very strict schedule,” Lawrence said. “Breakfast 7:30,” she added. “He’s good at keeping it,” she said, before admitting she is still learning.

After that, Lawrence described the compromise that keeps the peace. “But we’ve learned to keep our marriage alive,” she said. “I have a 15-minute wiggle room,” she added. She agreed that they can’t be held to the precise times, or the marriage is going to suffer. For now, her takeaway was simple: her husband keeps the clock, and she keeps it human.

She tied the chaos to her own wiring. “I’m ADD,” Lawrence said. “I think I should go to like occupational therapy for that,” she added. In that context, she recalled missing a planned circus outing after getting distracted at home.

As for her professional life, Lawrence’s new film, “Die My Love,” earned her a Golden Globe 2026 nomination for Best Performance by a Female Actor, Drama. As a result, her podcast detour landed during a busy press stretch.
