Body expert comments on Leonardo DiCaprio’s viral video
On January 12, the Golden Globes’ official TikTok page shared a hilarious clip of Leonardo DiCaprio. The viral video showcased DiCaprio pointing to an unknown guest before signalling, “I’m watching you.” He followed it up by giving multiple exaggerated reactions, which seems to have grabbed the attention of a kinesics expert.
“The viral clip featuring Leo is quite telling. While we know he has a good sense of humor, he appears to be mimicking someone or trying to make others laugh by behaving in an exaggerated manner,” Darren Stanton, a popular body language expert, told OK! while analyzing Leonardo DiCaprio’s reactions in the viral video.
Stanton added, “We often see Leo being quite serious and professional, so this definitely shows a different side of him. The clip proves that he’s relaxed, willing to joke around, and not take himself too seriously, even though he’s aware the camera is recording.” (via AOL.com)
Lip readers on the internet have since argued that DiCaprio seemingly had a message about “KPop Demon Hunters”, as per Entertainment Tonight. Notably, the animated feature took home two Golden Globes on the night. The movie not only won the Best Motion Picture – Animated category but also secured the Best Original Song prize.
Meanwhile, Leonardo DiCaprio didn’t win the Best Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy award. Nominated for his performance in “One Battle After Another”, the 51-year-old lost the accolade to Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme).
