Prince Harry’s ‘spare’ remark on Prince William and Kate Middleton’s kids upset them — expert
Prince Harry drew a lot of attention with his memoir, “Spare.” But his comment on Prince William and Kate Middleton’s kids in an interview did not go well with them. While speaking to The Telegraph, the Duke of Sussex admitted he fears his niece and nephew, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, will “end up” like him.
As per OK!, he told the paper, ”Though William and I have talked about it once or twice, and he has made it very clear to me that his kids are not my responsibility.” He added, “I still feel a responsibility knowing that out of those three children, at least one will end up like me, the spare and that hurts, that worries me.”
This comment from the younger brother might have upset the Prince and Princess of Wales, feels former BBC Royal Correspondent Jennie Bond. Bond told the outlet, “It’s not that William told Harry not to interfere with his children’s lives.” He added, “it’s that he told him that George, Charlotte, and Louis were not his responsibility – so I’ve got a lot of sympathy for William in that regard,”
The expert further added that “Harry has a huge chip on his shoulder about being a spare.” The duke “doesn’t have to assume that William and Catherine’s children will feel the same as him.” “Charlotte and Louis will be very important people with huge privilege and a huge platform, and so they don’t need to feel spare,” felt the correspondent. Bond even shared that “just because Harry felt spare, doesn’t mean that his nephews and nieces will feel spare.”
Even royal expert Camilla Tominey said that the next monarch will want their two youngest children to “have their own careers” if they want to. Moreover, the Prince and Princess of Wales won’t want Prince Louis to “go down the Duke of York path” to become a “royal hanger-on.”
