Loyalty in music evidently means a lot to Teyana Taylor. The singer is standing behind Kanye West despite all the controversies surrounding the rapper.
Considered one of the greatest rappers of all time, Kanye has been in the media and fans’ firing line for his many social media rants while also being labelled an absentee father by ex-wife Kim Kardashian. Teyana has had a longstanding working relationship with Kanye, gaining notoriety after appearing in his song Dark Fantasy. She was also seen in the Hell of a Life video on that same album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
Teyana Taylor doesn’t agree with everything Kanye West has done
Agreeing to disagree appears to be Teyana’s attitude towards Kanye. In an interview with Vanity Fair, she says, “I don’t have to agree with everything that he do or say, but I’m not going to, like, abandon him.”
After rising to fame in a pair of Kanye’s music videos, Teyana signed on with his music label G.O.O.D. in 2012. Four years after that, she appeared in Kanye’s music video for Fade. That was one of the hits from his album The Life of Pablo. When that video came out, fans were raving about Teyana’s abs.
Lately, though, she has been making more of a name for herself on screen. On Sunday, she captured a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for her role in One Battle After Another. She is also a part of the show All’s Fair, which features Kanye’s ex Kim.
Teyana is fresh off splitting with Aaron Pierre, with the two together for less than a year. She has released three studio albums, with her most recent, Escape Room, coming out in August 2025. Meanwhile, she has two movies set for release in 2026.
The Rip, which stars her alongside Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, is coming to Netflix on January 16.
