Ben Affleck and Matt Damon discussed their longtime friendship during an appearance on the Today show while promoting their new film The Rip. In a segment with journalist Craig Melvin, the two actors were asked to reveal their least favorite things about each other. Affleck, 53, responded, “Um, [he’s] not great at cleaning up around the house,” referencing Damon’s past habits. Damon replied, “Hey! [That was] when I was younger,” prompting Affleck to joke, “Well, that’s all I have to go by,” and then added, “I mean, we could ask your wife and see if it’s gotten better.” Their lighthearted exchange continued as Damon pointed out Affleck’s tendency to be late.

Affleck also joked about Damon’s lifestyle on set, saying, “You come out of the trailer, and everything’s done magically. How do you think it gets that way? But it’s fine.” The pair, known for writing and starring in Good Will Hunting, which earned them an Academy Award in 1998, are promoting their latest collaboration, a thriller directed by Joe Carnahan.

Damon revealed separately on The Howard Stern Show that his wife Luciana once thought Affleck was “the cute one” when she watched Good Will Hunting. “She admitted that… her best friend thought I was the cute one, and she thought Ben was the cute one,” Damon said. Affleck responded, “She’s a great producer and a really good friend, and yeah, I never got that vibe from her.” Damon added, “Finally, she met him and all that went away.”
