Matt Prokop was arrested on Christmas Eve, reportedly for violating the terms of his bond. But the actor apparently didn’t go easy. An incident report claims that he slammed the door in an officer’s face and resisted arrest. The former teen star is reportedly facing multiple additional charges, including possession of child pornography.
Matt Prokop allegedly resisted arrest
Matt, best known for his role in High School Musical 3, was arrested on December 24 in Victoria, Texas. According to the incident report obtained by TMZ, the actor refused to cooperate. Instead, he allegedly slammed the door in the cop’s face and, once they managed to get into his apartment, began flailing his body around to avoid being cuffed.
He was eventually taken to jail and booked on charges of evading and resisting arrest, as well as violating the conditions of his bond. The exact details of the bond violation, and the original case, are unclear.
The actor is also facing several other charges. They include invasive visual recording, following an accusation that he recorded a woman in a bathroom without her permission, and possession of apparent child pornography. According to authorities, he had between between 10 and 50 images of child sexual abuse, reports TMZ.
Matt rose to fame after starring as Jimmie Zara in High School Musical 3: Senior Year. He went on to act in TV shows and movies including Modern Family and Perception. His last acting credit dates back to 2013, and he’s been out of the public eye since.
The troubled star was in a relationship with Sarah Hyland for around five years until 2014. The actress accused him of being abusive and obtained a restraining order following their breakup, requiring him to stay away from her for three years.
