Amanda Seyfried knows when a prank is on the verge of going too far. The actress and Channing Tatum had a lot of fun while on a film together years ago. At the same time, the Mamma Mia! actress is sharing how her swift action saved a crew member from getting a bitter taste in their mouth, literally.
Amanda recalls one such moment when the Magic Mike actor peed on her leg during an intimate moment on the beach between the two. Some of the urine got into a coffee cup, according to Amanda, before being collected by a makeup artist. Fortunately, Amanda was on hand to prevent them from having a drink.
The incident took place on the set of Dear John
On camera, there’s little comedy in Dear John, which stars Channing as a soldier who falls for Amanda and writes love letters to her while on assignment. When the cameras weren’t rolling, though, the two pulled their share of pranks. “He (Channing) and I effed with each other the entire movie in a super, super fun way,” Amanda told Deadline.
As for the peeing prank, Amanda says Channing “ran away as I was screaming.” She says that she managed to intervene and alert the makeup artist not to take a drink of the coffee. While that joke barely survived disaster, Amanda has nothing but fond memories of her time working with Channing. For her, his sense of humor is part of the reason she considers him one of her favorite co-stars.
Amanda says that his playfulness is on par with how she acts on set. That is among the reasons why the two worked so well together. They don’t take anything seriously, which is another thing that drew the two to one another.
Dear John earned Teen Choice Award nominations for both Channing and Amanda. The film is an adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks novel of the same name. It became a New York Times bestseller.
