An acclaimed Romanian actor has ties to a powerful person in the beauty world. Sebastian Stan has earned his share of accolades throughout his career as an actor, winning a Golden Globe for Best Actor in A Different Man.
The man who rose to fame for shows like Gossip Girl, has ties to a business mogul who grew up in the same European town as he did. Now the world knows the identity of the 2024 Academy Award nominee’s godmother.
Sebastian Stan’s godmother is Anastasia Soare
They may be famous for different things, but Anastasia Soare and Sebastian have known each other for quite some time. In an interview with ELLE, the Anastasia Beverly Hills founder and CEO declared, “I am his (Sebastian) godmother!”
Like Sebastian, the beauty mogul was born in the Romanian town of Constanta. The 68-year-old says that she’s known the actor’s mom since the fifth grade. Even though their careers have followed separate paths, Anastasia says Sebastian has maintained their connection. His mother currently lives in New York City. Anastasia says the two see each other whenever Sebastian is in the Big Apple to visit.
Sebastian’s mom, Georgeta Orlovsch, immigrated to the United States with him in the 1990s. She was Sebastian’s date at the 2025 Academy Awards. He was nominated for Best Actor for his portrayal of Donald Trump in The Apprentice. In January of last year, Sebastian and girlfriend Annabelle Wallis captured people’s attention during the Golden Globes.
Known as the Eyebrow Queen, Anastasia’s Beverly Hills cosmetics brand is available in over 2,000 stores across the globe. In 2023, Forbes estimated the company’s value to be a whopping $500 million.
Sebastian is set to reprise his role as James “Bucky” Barnes in Avengers: Doomsday, which comes out in theatres in December.
