Jacob Elordi Surprises With ‘Real’ Margot Robbie Chemistry Confession

Actor Jacob Elordi has spoken about his hot chemistry with fellow actor Margot Robbie. The two co-starred in the movie, Wuthering Heights.

To sum up, the movie is based on the well-known 1847 romance novel of the same name. It details the heartbreaking love story between Heathcliff, an orphan, and Cathy, his adoptive sibling.

Wuthering Heights was a “pretty profound experience” for Jacob Elordi

In describing the experience to Fandango, Jacob said, “The moments when it was good and the love was alive were really sort of pleasurable moments to actually see, because in the book you don’t see them together. But to actually confirm that love in our version of the narrative, and to see it lived through, was a pretty profound experience.”

The Euphoria actor admits being completely engrossed in certain scenes with the Barbie star. “There’d be a moment where we’d be running hand-in-hand through the moors — maybe not even in the scene, just setting it up,” he said. When the two looked at each other, they became their characters. “And in that moment, we really were a part of their love, for real,” he recalled.

The 1978 hit song, “Wuthering Heights” by Kate Bush enriched one scene for Jacob. This romantic moment filmed on the well-known moors of England was profound for Jacob. “Watching the sunset and being Heathcliff and Cathy, sitting and watching the sunset on the moors as the sort of spirit of their characters have for the last 200 years,” he explained. “And you can almost imagine that the spirit of this love that [author Emily] Brontë created is sort of floating around there.” The actors could feel Catherine and Heathcliff’s doomed bond.

After fans voiced displeasure in Jacob’s casting last December, Margot defended her costar. “I saw him play Heathcliff, and he is Heathcliff,” she told British Vogue. “I’d say, just wait. Trust me, you’ll be happy.”

Wuthering Heights will hit theaters on February 13.
