Jennifer Lopez Was Not Rude in Viral Glambot Video, Director Confirms

Critics believe that Jennifer Lopez was “rude” during her Glambot video moment at the 2026 Golden Globes, but the director says viewers got it wrong. Some viewers seemed upset that Lopez didn’t appear to make eye contact or talk when Walliser gave directions. However, Cole Walliser, the director known for conducting the Glambot setup on major red carpets, addressed claims that Lopez acted rudely during her hasty stop at the award show.

Glambot director on Jennifer Lopez’s viral video that sparked backlash: ‘It didn’t feel rude’

The Glambot video director took to Instagram on Sunday, pushing back on the idea that Jennifer Lopez was rude to him at the event. He said that the interaction never felt disrespectful from his side, stating, “I didn’t take it personally. It didn’t feel rude in that moment,” further explaining that timing played a big role.

Walliser said, “The carpet was closed. She’s ready to go inside. She knew what she was gonna do. She got into the position.”

The video that set off the backlash showed Lopez stepping into place in a nude, form-fitting gown, posing for the slow-motion shot, then heading off with a gentle wave. Critics flooded the comments with criticism. One person wrote, “This doesn’t help her reputation of being rude lol.” Another said, “my favorite part was when she didn’t look at, speak to, or smile at you.”

A third user appreciated Walliser’s approach, saying, “Wow she was very rude! You behaved impeccably, Cole!” However, someone defended J.Lo, saying, “She said hi and waived goodbye. I don’t see what the fuss is about.”

In his video, Walliser explained, “It’s just unfortunate that the position was she was facing away from me. So I am talking to her, she is looking away, but she’s getting ready for the move.”

Moreover, he reminded viewers, “Sometimes they don’t know what they’re walking up to.” He added that confusion happens with many celebrities, not just Lopez. Walliser also clarified, “I’ve never felt anybody was rude to me. I think people are at work. They’re rushed. The world is crazy, and I never take it personal.”

The Glambot director was clear: Jennifer Lopez hit her marks and moved along as the carpet closed — and there was nothing rude about how she behaved.
