David Beckham Appears to Avoid Brooklyn Question in New Clip

David Beckham made headlines during his first public appearance since his eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham‘s Instagram posts stirred family drama. The former soccer star attended the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, but seemed to avoid discussing anything involving Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham. Beckham remained composed and focused on the forum’s events, smiling for photos while appearing to sidestep questions about his family.

On January 20, David Beckham showed up at the World Economic Forum, taking part in panels, snapping photos, and even stepping into a podcast booth, all while appearing to remain tight-lipped about his family. When Sky News asked if he had a message for Brooklyn or was upset about the personal issues going public, Beckham just smiled and walked on without saying a word.

The forum, which gathers global leaders and experts to tackle major world issues, gave Beckham a professional stage far from the headlines. His appearance came amid extra attention after Brooklyn, 26, spoke out about months of tension with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, 51. He reportedly accused them of meddling in his marriage and leaking false stories to the press.

On Instagram, Brooklyn shared examples of what he says was his parents’ interference, including a moment he described as them hijacking his first dance with Nicola at their 2022 wedding. He also called out family priorities, saying public appearances and brand deals often came before personal relationships. Brooklyn stressed that he and Nicola “just wanted to quietly live their lives” without all the media spotlight.

Even with the tension, sources told PEOPLE that David and Victoria have been trying to mend things, repeatedly inviting Brooklyn and Nicola to talk and move forward. Friends close to the family say David loves all his kids, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper, deeply, but chose to stay silent publicly while at Davos.
