Jennifer Lawrence’s Nicknames Include NSFW & Barbie Reference

Jennifer Lawrence shared a quick nickname list on Amy Poehler’s podcast this week. The Oscar winner’s nickname list includes a censored NSFW one. It also has a “Barbie” reference that doubles as a friend-group roast. Beyond nicknames, the “Die My Love” star talked fashion rules. She also hit reality TV shows and her creative move. She name-checked rewatches like “Veep” and “Modern Family.”

Jennifer Lawrence reveals her fun nicknames on Amy Poehler podcast

First, Amy Poehler shifted into quick-fire questions about everyday habits. In the episode, Jennifer Lawrence talks about her nicknames growing up, approximately half an hour into their chat. Asked if she has a nickname, she replied, “Fluffin,” then she uttered, “Nitro” while having a poker expression, then dropped the bomb, “B***s.”

At this point, both Lawrence and Poehler cracked up. The “American Hustle” actor did a quick save by saying, “B***s Lawrence with the full governmental name.” Although she didn’t explain the origin of the NSFW nickname, Poheler was almost falling from the seat, belly laughing.

Next, she explained where “Nitro” came from. “My brothers, cause I was really hyper and they called me Nitro,” she said. Poehler laughed, and the actor kept the list moving. Then came the “Barbie” reference. “My friends call me Ken from the Barbie movie cuz I’m just Ken,” she said and added, “I think it’s their way of calling me stupid.” Whenever she says something silly, they reply, “She’s just Ken.” The gag nods to the character Ken in the “Barbie” movie.

Still, the chat stayed loose on pop culture. Asked about what job she would choose on “Below Deck,” she chose a low-drama job. “I would go into that laundry and I’d f*** that laundry up,” she joked. She added, “I’d listen to some murder [true crime stories].”

Later, she dropped a quick style rule for street photos. “Big goes with big,” she added further, “if you’re gonna have a baggy and a tight, you cannot ever have a tight on the bottom, baggy on the top, or you’ll look like a lamp.” Finally, on the “Good Hang” podcast, which is the winner of the 2026 Golden Globe in the Best Podcast category, Lawrence teased what she wants next behind the camera. “I wrote a comedy,” she said. “I would love to direct it and I’ll star in it.”
