As the internet spirals over Karamo Brown’s apparent fallout with the Queer Eye cast, Jonathan Van Ness seems totally unbothered. All hell has broken loose online, but JVN just shared a heartfelt post, all about wanting to “honor” the Queer Eye experience. He’s all smiles as the final season of their Emmy-award-winning show makes headlines for all of the wrong reasons.
JVN and Karamo Brown unfollowed each other on Instagram
In case you missed it, Karamo went nuclear on his Queer Eye castmates the day before Netflix dropped their tenth and final season. He skipped out on multiple press appearances, and his reps released a statement saying that he “has felt mentally and emotionally abused for years.”
Around the same time, Karamo also unfollowed his castmates JVN, Antoni Porowski, and Tan France. The newest cast member, Jeremiah Brent, was the only person from the current Fab Five to survive the unfollowing spree. Karamo also still follows Bobby Berk, who Jeremiah controversially replaced.
JVN, who was previously accused of having rage issues on set, doesn’t appear to be fazed by any of this. On Instagram, he made it clear that he’s focused on celebrating Queer Eye’s final season, which filmed in Washington, D.C. last summer.
“I stand in so much gratitude, I honor this experience and all it did, and I am so excited to see what’s next,” JVN wrote on Instagram, along with a carousel of behind-the-scenes pictures from Season 10.
Fans and celebrities swarmed the comments on JVN’s post, sharing positive words about the final round of episodes, which are all currently streaming on Netflix. If you were only looking at these comments, you’d have no idea that the feel-good makeover show was suffering from a barrage of negative press.
Similarly, Antoni took to Instagram with a heartfelt goodbye to the show that launched the Fab Five to international stardom. No mention of all of the headlines about the alleged infighting.
Queer Eye is streaming on Netflix.
