Ryanair Launches Elon Musk-Inspired ‘Idiot’ Sale Amid Ongoing Feud

Ryanair hits back at Elon Musk with an “Idiot” sale following their online spat. For those unversed, Musk and Michael O’Leary, Ryanair CEO, have been involved in a war of words on social media for quite some time now. At one point, Musk suggested he should buy Ryanair, which did not go down well with O’Leary. Fans on the internet are applauding Ryanair for standing up to Musk and are waiting to see what happens next.

Elon Musk roasted by Ryanair with new offer

Ryanair takes a swipe at Elon Musk with a new “Idiot” sale offer following their online spat. They tweeted, “Don’t thank us, thank that big ‘IDIOT,’” tagging Elon Musk’s X account. They shared a website link to their promotional offer.

The text on the quirky poster read, “Ryanair’s Big ‘Idiot’ Seat Sale.” The lines below state, “Only available for Elon Musk and any other ‘idiots’ on X!! Book today before Musk gets one!” Further information mentions, “From £16.99. 100K seats in Feb, March, and April.” The body copy showcased animated photos of O’Leary playfully stabbing Musk with an “I Love Ryanair” placard as they stood on a “Big Idiots” podium.

Unsurprisingly, the post garnered 25K likes, 3.8K retweets, 1.4K bookmarks, and 2.7K comments. Fans absolutely love how Ryanair roasted the Tesla founder with a witty promotional copy for their “idiot” sale.

One fan commented, “The troll-in-chief just discovered the troll-ninjas. Brilliant!” “The marketing team of Ryanair deserves a raise,” a second fan wrote. “Holy manufacturing of the most entertaining outcome,” a third fan remarked. Finally, one fan penned, “Seriously, their social media team deserves a raise.”

For those unversed, Musk and O’Leary have engaged in a fiery war of words on social media, addressing each other as “idiot” in a spat that began over Starlink. It all began last week, when O’Leary was asked if Ryanair would install Starlink satellite internet technology for onboard Wi-Fi on its aircraft. Notably, Lufthansa and British Airways are now using Starlink, which is a satellite internet service created by SpaceX.

However, O’Leary wasn’t down for the idea, claiming that this would burden Ryanair with an additional $200M to$250M in annual fuel expenses (via Indian Express).

However, O’Leary’s comments offended Musk, who then put up a poll on X asking users if he should buy Ryanair.
