Chris Noth on ‘Hurtful’ Friendship With Sarah Jessica Parker

He said he was hurt that Parker didn’t bother to hear his side of the story before releasing a statement on rape allegations against him in 2021. Noth described her response as “brand management” and said he was upset that despite knowing him for years, she never checked in with him before commenting publicly.

Chris Noth clears the air about Sarah Jessica Parker friendship

Noth set the record straight on his friendship with Parker in a clip obtained by PEOPLE from the upcoming episode of Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson. He confessed that they are no longer friends after Parker chose to speak out about the rape allegations made against him in 2021. At the time, three women accused him of sexual harassment, but he had denied the claims.

Noth said, “The statement that they put out — which was nothing more than brand management, really — I don’t know, it was sad, it was disappointing, it was surprising. Because you need to call me and hear my side of this. You’ve known me for many years, and we’ve worked [together] for many years.”

He mentioned that what upset him was the fact that Parker knew him for years and didn’t reach out to him to know the situation. “I get it, that’s more Hollywood than Hollywood. But before you make that statement, you know me, you’ve known me all these years, give me a call so I can give you the real scoop about this. And that didn’t happen, and that was too bad,” he added.

However, Noth looked at the situation positively, learning that during such times one understands who their “real friends” are. He also mentioned that if he were in her place, he would have attempted to reach out and clarify the situation before going public. “That was hurtful, and it really affected everything,” he added, referring to Parker’s move to comment publicly about him.
