Why Karamo Brown Ditched Queer Eye Cast After Season 10 Wrapped — Report

Slowly but surely, we’re piecing together the puzzle of what happened between Karamo Brown and the rest of the Queer Eye cast. He dropped out of all press appearances and unfollowed his longtime costars, Antoni Porowski, Tan France, and Jonathan Van Ness on Instagram. Now, we’ve learned that this drama has actually been brewing for months, and Karamo’s mom is involved. It’s messy.

According to sources that spoke with TMZ, Karamo’s friction with the Queer Eye cast started over the summer when they were filming in Washington, D.C. Karamo invited his mom to visit the set for a day, and things went horribly wrong.

During the on-set visit, his mother was given a pair of production headphones. She spent the day watching them shoot the feel-good makeover show, but at one point, Karamo walked away from the group. That’s when his mom got an earful from the Fab Five.

Allegedly, she overheard Tan, Antoni, and Jonathan speaking negatively about Karamo. It’s unclear what they specifically said, but they were supposedly criticizing “certain lifestyle choices.” Whatever they said, it wasn’t kind, and they probably wouldn’t have said it if they knew his mother was listening.

When Karamo’s mom told her son what happened, it caused immediate friction with the group. He’s been on the outs ever since, and it’s probably not a coincidence that the drama became public the day before the Queer Eye Season 10 premiere.

The only exception to this mess is Jeremiah Brent. It seems like he wasn’t involved in the trash-talking, which is why he survived Karamo’s unfollowing spree.

Karamo has not commented directly on these latest claims about his mom’s set visit. His castmates haven’t spoken about it either. They’re all too busy commemorating the final season of their hit show, which is now ending on a sour note.

Queer Eye is streaming on Netflix.
