Brooklyn Beckham reportedly wanted to achieve “emancipation” from his parents amid the family feud. A source told RadarOnline that he was looking into “divorcing” Victoria and David Beckham. It was before choosing to go for the scandalous social media rant. Reportedly, the legal act is intended mainly for minors, so the 26-year-old son would not be required to obtain it.
“He swapped that plan [of emancipation] for attacking them on social media, blocking them before posting his rant against them,” the insider shared. They further called Brooklyn “bitter” and “stupid” for considering such action. “He was literally willing to spend a small fortune ’emancipating’ himself from parents who live on the other side of the world and have no control over him,” they added.
According to a legal source, the former model didn’t need a lawyer to “enforce boundaries” and achieve “personal and social separation” from his parents. As he’s not a minor, he could maintain distance and make decisions without his parents’ consent. Moreover, in his latest online post, he confirmed his estranged relationship with his family.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” his lengthy Instagram statement. Later, a report suggested that Victoria wanted to have a “face-to-face” conversation with her son. But she would seemingly want it without his wife, Nicola Peltz.
