Greta Lin and Matthew were one of several couples featured on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 7. They met on a vegan dating app while Greta was traveling in Matthew’s home country, the United Kingdom, and formed a quick connection. Greta eventually returned to America but decided that her connection with Matthew was worth pursuing. The couple became engaged, and Greta decided to move to the UK permanently to be with Matthew.
Once Greta arrived in the UK, however, things didn’t go as planned. She ended up staying less than a week before ultimately deciding to call off the engagement. Greta and Matthew had a strange breakup on Season 7, but where do they stand with one another today?
Greta Lin and Matthew broke up quickly on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 7
When Greta arrived in the UK on Season 7, things immediately started on the wrong foot. At the train station, Matthew admitted that she smelled bad, which started the move off on a sour note. Later on at Matthew’s house, Greta was surprised to find that he hadn’t cleared any room for her to put her things. A few days later, the couple went to look for houses. When the topic of kids came up, Greta revealed that she was no longer sure she wanted to be a mother. Matthew, who really wants to have kids, insisted he’d give up on his dream of becoming a parent for Greta.
Shortly after the house-hunting, things seemed to take a 180 for Greta. While cooking dinner, she broke down about her uncertainties regarding Matthew. When he came home, she admitted that she didn’t think she loved him anymore. Greta revealed that while she was studying for the bar exam, she felt disconnected from him. While she had hoped their spark would come to life, it didn’t happen for her after arriving in the UK.
Matthew was blindsided by the breakup and tried to convince Greta to stay. He even asked his Dad to talk to her, but Greta’s mind was already made up. After spending only four days together, Greta decided to move out of Matthew’s house and end their engagement for good.
Matthew revealed during the first part of the Tell All that he’s in a new relationship
During the first part of the Season 7 Tell All, Matthew shocked the cast with an update on his love life. He revealed that about six months after Greta left, he connected with a new woman online. After a dinner date that lasted about five hours, it was clear to him that there was a real connection there. By the time the Tell All filmed, Matthew was living in a new house with his partner and admitted he was doing really well.
Greta was surprised to hear that Matthew had moved on. However, they both wished each other the best going forward. Some of the other cast members felt that Matthew moved on too soon. They asked for details on his new relationship, but Matthew declined to share any. He emphasized that he wanted to keep things private with his new relationship and wasn’t willing to share any intimate details.
Greta decided to remain in the UK on a work visa
To the surprise of some of her cast mates, Greta decided to remain in the UK after leaving Matthew. She received a job offer and officially moved there on a work visa. Matthew was surprised as well, but was supportive of Greta’s decision.
While things didn’t work out between Greta and Matthew, they are both happy and doing well. Greta loves her new job in the UK, and Matthew is happy in his new relationship. It’s unlikely that Greta or Matthew will appear on the 90 Day Fiancé franchise anytime soon, but of course, anything is possible!
