Donald Trump Reacts After Rep. Ilhan Omar Sprayed With Unidentified Substance

The representative for Minnesota’s 5th congressional district was sprayed with an unknown substance during the event. Rep. Omar was uninjured and continued with her speech after the incident. The attacker has been identified Anthony James Kazmierczak, who has been charged with third-degree assault and is being held in custody.

At this time, the liquid squirted at Rep. Omar has yet to be identified by officials. Witnesses at the town hall meeting recalled to reporters that the liquid smelled sour when sprayed at the politician.

The attack occurred when Rep. Omar was discussing recent attacks by ICE in the state of Minnesota. Just before the attack, she called for Kristi Noem, whose Department of Homeland Security (DHS) oversees ICE, “resign or face impeachment.”

Trump reacted to the attack in a conversation with ABC News Senior Political Correspondent Rachel Scott.

According to the reporter, Trump believed the attack was a hoax. “Just spoke to Pres. Trump. I asked him if he had seen the video of Rep. Omar being attacked and sprayed by a substance,” Rachel began in an X post.

“No. I don’t think about her. I think she’s a fraud. I really don’t think about that,” Trump responded.

From there, Trump apparently pushed a conspiracy theory about the attack. “She probably had herself sprayed, knowing her,” he continued. Additionally, Trump allegedly admitted he had not seen the video. “I haven’t seen it. No, no. I hope I don’t have to bother.”
