Lili Reinhart Reveals ‘Former Government Worker’ Sent Sexual Assault Message Over Kamala Harris Vote

Trigger Warning: This article contains some discussion of sexual assault.

Lili Reinhart is opening up about her decision to stop using X, after the Elon Musk-owned app subjected her to threatening messages over her endorsement of Kamala Harris.

The former Riverdale actor shared an Instagram Stories post on Tuesday, detailing the recent controversy surrounding X’s AI chatbot, Grok. Recently, Elon has been subject to worldwide condemnation after failing to address thousands of users using Grok to alter photos to undress the person in the photo digitally. The majority of the victims were women and children.

“Who the f*ck would want to use social media with a built-in child abuse tool?” the post shared by Lili read. The shared image by Lili included a bus stop ad with the caption, next to an image of Elon. The post also encouraged readers to “delete your X account.”

The actress added her own history with the Elon-owned social media app, and recalled a traumatic incident that encouraged her to quit X for good. The Hustlers star was formerly an active user on X (formerly Twitter) and used the app for her activism.

“Stopped using X in 2024 when men were sending me messages about [how] I deserved to be r*ped for voting for Kamala [Harris],” Reinhart added on the shared story.

Additionally, Lili revealed that one of the men who sent her threatening messages “was a former government worker.”

The Grok AI scandal has been criticized by countless political figures. The UK government has threatened to ban X if the issue isn’t resolved.

Lili is also far from the first celebrity to ditch X after Elon’s takeover. Many celebrities, from Elton John to Jim Carrey, cited the billionaire as their reason for leaving. Several major corporations have also quit the app, due to Elon’s refusal to tackle fake verified accounts impersonating others.
