Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, and others reacted to Bill Belichick’s Hall of Fame snub. Bill Belichick is one of the most successful head coaches in NFL history and boasts an impressive resume. Yet, he isn’t a first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer. According to a report by ESPN, the 73-year-old did not receive the required votes in his first year of eligibility.

Top NFL stars like Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, and Rob Gronkowski react to Bill Belichick’s Hall of Fame snub. According to ESPN, Belichick needed 40 votes in his favor from the 50-person panel of media members and other Hall of Famers. Unfortunately, things did not go in his favor. This has sent shockwaves across NFL fans and players, who have reacted strongly.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes labeled this decision as “insane; don’t even understand how this could be possible.” Lakers legend LeBron James was shocked as well. He tweeted, “Man, there’s no way I read that right! Right? Ain’t no WAY Bill Belichick ain’t 1st Ballot HOF!! That’s IMPOSSIBLE, EGREGIOUS, and quite frankly, DISRESPECTFUL!”

Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady, who won six titles with Belichick, spoke in support of the former New England Patriots coach. In a presentation to Hall of Fame voters, Brady called Belichick “his greatest coaching influence.” Brady said, “I don’t understand it. If he’s not a first-ballot Hall of Famer, there’s really no coach that should ever be a first-ballot Hall of Famer, which is completely ridiculous because people deserve it.”

He continued, “He’s incredible. There’s no coach I’d rather play for. If I’m picking one coach to go out there to win a Super Bowl — give me one season — I’m taking Bill Belichick. So that’s enough said.” (via Seattle Sports).

Rob Gronkowski, former tight end with the Patriots, shared his thoughts on Belichick’s Hall of Fame snub in an interview with Complex. He revealed his displeasure by stating, “It’s asinine that Coach Belichick is not a first-ballot Hall of Famer. The guy is just an absolutely phenomenal coach, arguably one of the best of all time if not the best of all time. Coach Belichick will be a Pro Football Hall of Famer eventually, but he should’ve been a first ballot.”
