Sydney Sweeney has shared her fear of “being alone” in a recent interview. The actress also pulled back the curtains on her personal life and struggles of dating while under constant public scrutiny.
Sydney Sweeney talks about one of her biggest fears
Sydney Sweeney has opened up about her love life, brand launch, and more in her recent cover story for Cosmopolitan. At one point during the interview, the Euphoria star also got candid about her biggest fear in life.
“I struggle with being alone,” Sweeney admitted. “My mom, my friends are all like, ‘Sydney, you need to learn to love to be alone,'” she continued.
The actress then shared, “I have a huge fear of being alone for the rest of my life, so I look for someone who will be my best friend, who I can hang out with, talk to all the time, dream up things with, and work with.”
This isn’t the first time Sweeney has talked about this fear. In her Off The Cuff interview for Vogue with The Housemaid co-star Amanda Seyfried, the actress said, “My biggest fear is I’ll be alone forever.”
In addition to her fears, Sweeney also addressed the challenges of dating and finding love while being in the public eye. “I was in a relationship for a very long time, for seven and a half years, and I never talked about it. I was very private. No one would ever see us,” Sydney told Cosmopolitan, referring to her past relationship with Jonathan Davino.
The star added, “I think it’s important to have some things for myself. I understand that I’m a public person, but I’m still in my 20s. I’m still figuring out love, and it’s hard to do that with millions of people who have their own opinions of what that looks like.”
Sweeney has been romantically linked to record producer Scooter Braun since June 2025, shortly after the pair attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding in Venice, Italy. They have since been spotted on multiple outings and date nights.
