Donald Trump Insults Wife Melania in Documentary: Details

In a recent documentary, Donald Trump had some unfavorable things to say about his wife Melania Trump.

Melania: Twenty Days to History was released in cinemas last week. It follows the First Lady in the run-up to Trump’s second inauguration. Speaking at the premiere, Melania – who also produced the film – said she wanted to “show other people what it takes to go from being a private citizen to First Lady again.”

Although the documentary largely follows Melania, Donald is, of course, featured in it a few times. At one point, he calls his wife “very beautiful” and likens her to “a movie star.” But he’s not always so complimentary.

At the end of the film, as Donald and Melania prepare for their first night in the White House following his re-election, he refers to her as “difficult.”

“She’s very difficult, but there’s nobody like her,” Trump said with a laugh. He then backtracked with: “She’s the most incredible First Lady.”

Perhaps Donald’s thoughts on Melania are unsurprising. At the premiere of Melania: Twenty Days to History, he seemingly forgot the country she is from.

“Well, I am proud of her,” Trump said of the First Lady at the premiere. He continued on to chat about her background, but notably avoided any mention that she’s from Slovenia. “She comes from a faraway country,” he said.

Beyond what Melania and her husband have said about – or in – the movie/documentary, it has been hit by scandal in more ways than one. Most recently, director Brett Ratner was featured in last week’s drop of Jeffrey Epstein files.
